Since millennials were born at a period of fast technology growth, they are regarded as the generation of digital natives. As a result, daily life is nearly constantly dependent on the functions of technology, particularly the internet, which allows individuals to exhibit their identities through social media platforms.


This is the essence of digital citizenship, which refers to the rules of proper and responsible behavior when it comes to using technology.


Respecting, educating, and protecting oneself and others are the three guiding principles of digital citizenship.
Digital citizenship is used to regulate human conduct in a technologically advanced and digital society.

Within the concept of digital citizenship, there are 9 themes that cover these behaviors:

o Digital health and wellness

o Digital Security

o Digital Rights & Responsibilities

o Digital Literacy

o Digital Law

o Digital Etiquette

o Digital Communication

o Digital Commerce

 

OVERALL LEARNING

This chapter taught me to become more vigilant as part of GenZ, I realized that our responsibility and participation is not limited because even in digital world there are still some responsibility or etiquette that we should observe. Our digital identity is not something that we should be taken for granted, we should always be vigilant wherever we are on this space. Several online issues were sought in this contemporary world and it is our duty and responsible to limit these issues by being more mindful and cautious. Lastly, our digital participation should always be observed and and we should limit the time we spent online. We should not let these platforms consume us the way we consume them.
